The Longman building has past into the history books of Inverness College. The first section to go was where the nursery and the furthest end of the main building was. Then it was the Learning Resource Centre wing. The last section of the building to be demolished was the front section of the building where the reception, the executive staff offices, the canteen and the sports hall were.
It is sad to see the building go away, but I hope that something of use will be built in it place. The only part of the building I won't miss was that tall staircase between the canteen and the reception, I was sure that they'd would kill me before I missed each year at Longman.
Farewell Longman, and I'm sure that I'd been speaking for many by saying we thank you.
Wish us all luck.

New Life for Midmills and End of Longman
It has been nearly a year since I left Inverness College, and nearly four years since the college left the old campuses of Midmills and Longman.
The Midmills building, being an enlisted building, can't be changed too much. The newest part of the Midmills building, where the canteen and the drama department was, has been demolished and rebuilding into a block of flats. The main part of the building is now being used by Wasps Inverness Creative Academy, an art school. It is good that the Midmills building has got a new piece of life.
It is with a bit of sadness that I have say that the Longman building is being demolished. The first wing to go was the nursery, then the newest wing where the library was. Elsewhere, the roof over the sports hall has been removed. I bumped into one of the workers men when I was passing by and talked to him. I told him that I was a student and the only part I won't miss will be the staircase (he said that he knew the feeling). I asked about what will happen after the demolishing is done, but he only there to demolish the building as the Highland Council owns the land. A new courthouse is being built next door, so the worker did suggest the land could be converted into a carp park for the new courthouse. It is sad that the Longman building will be gone, but hopefully the land will, like the Midmills building will get a new piece of life.
So far, I have been looking to work, and I so far, there has been a few ideas that have caught my eye, and I have a voluntary job at the National Trust for Scotland, and hopefully it will give the experience of a working environment.
Wish us all the best of luck.

NC Media Passed!
I have that best news possible.
I got a letter from the SQA last week, and it told me that I have past the NC Media course - Hooray!
I hope that with this victory, I'll be able to find a good job in the future. I have a few ideas, but I need to narrow the list down. I hope I will find a good one.
Wish me and all of us from the NC Media course at Inverness College the best of luck for our futures.

Chasing Sketchbooks, Workbooks and Lecturers
I have been "Chasing Tails" at college on Friday late afternoon, Saturday morning and Monday morning.
On Friday, I was having a day out seeing the film Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and by when I got home and checked my college emails, I discovered that I had an email telling me that if I had left any sketchbooks or workbooks that wasn't handed in and had left laying around in a classroom, it will be take and thrown out. And if I wanted them back, I had to pick them up by 5pm, it was between 5pm and 6pm when I went to college. If I wanted to collect any of my sketchbooks and workbooks, I could pick them up at the reception by the same time.
But when I got to the reception, it was closed (Mondays to Thursdays closing time is about 8pm, Fridays is 5pm). So I tried again on Saturday morning, but couldn't anywhere with the reception, so I tried again on Monday.
I got my workbook for Digital Imaging, went to check my college emails, where I met Brain and he gave me the paperwork I handed in for Media Project. I went looking Iain for further help, he and the rest of the lecturers was at meetings, so I had wait before I found them and Katie gave me my Comics and Graphic Novels sketchbook, telling me that I had past the class, but only just. I got my Animation workbook at the reception where Alison had left it for me.
I'm glad that I have got my sketchbooks and workbooks and that I have past all of my classes, just the Intro to the Media Industry class to worry about and wait for.
Wish all the best of luck for all of us.

Final Day of NC Media is Here
Today is our last day of NC Media, and possibly my last day of Inverness College.
In Comics, Katie had to leave due to being in a meeting that was marking the work, so she just made sure that our work was done and allowed us to carry on with any other work needed done. It was the same for Digital Imaging class, and the classroom was locked for the whole time the class was on. After the time for the Digital Imaging, Alison, who saw us during Katie's class, and was able to do similar work Katie was, arranged for us to visit the Comics class at 2pm so we could see our animation videos, which we viewed twice to allow Iain, who was passing to see them too. I must admit, we all did good jobs with our animations.
In Media Project, Brian helped pointed out what I needed to have printed and handed in.
On Thursday and Friday, there was the Youth Parliament visiting the college and I met old friend from school, Andrew Jarvie.
In my spare time, I do story writing, and a bit of poetry, but not much. I do a Writing Blog that Gordon suggested I could do with this blog when I first started blogging. Here's a link to a poem I wrote the other day. But here's what I think is a better version.
The sun shines
The rain falls
As the day comes
As the bright sun falls
Today is the day
Today has been coming
The day I kept at bay
The day deep within knew is dawning
My good work is done
My good work is handed over
To stay, what can be done?
To stay, what more work is not over?
Alas, the end of the day is now upon me
Alas, the end of my long era is now upon me
I hope that you've enjoyed my poems.
Hard to believe that it's now the end of the NC Media course, and I have enjoyed it. I may have doubts on the Comics and Graphic Novels class, but I'll leave it to the markers to decide on how I did.
What's harder to believe is that it's my last proper course at Inverness College University of the Highlands and Islands. I have been at college since August/September 2010, and I have had my ups and downs. My first course HNC Accounting proved too hard, so I attempted NQ IT Applications, and it lead me onto the Admin and IT NC and HNC courses before suggested the HNC Computing. The Computing course was interesting, but I had entered at too high a level, even doing it part time, but I don't blame anybody for that. It didn't work out, but I gave a try and it lead me onto the NC Digital Media Level 5, where my blogging began as it was one of the classes. Thanks Gordon.
It was then that an era of Inverness College ended with moving from the old campuses, Midmills (which is being developed into retirement flats) and Longman (which is boarded up and going to be next door to the new Inverness Court House), to the current campus at Beechwood. I did NC Digital Media Level 6, where I was suggested NC Media, but I missed to do it last year so I completed ECDL Advance Word and started on the Advanced Presentation. That's my next task to see about finishing that if I can.
The reason this could be my last course at Inverness College is because my parents are getting a divorce, and I have decided to support my mum through it all and after the whole matter is sorted.
I don't know what's in store for us all, but I hope that the future will be hopeful one for everyone.
Thank you for following me, and I maybe drop a post to let you know how I'm doing.
Wish us all the best of luck for the future.

180th Blog Post - Final Week Underway
Our final week is underway.
Today in our last Page Layout and Design class, Iain was asking us for our work to hand in, and I have handed in my completed work.
Alison wasn't in for Animation as she's at an important meeting in Perth, but she will be back tomorrow, so we can view our animations and ensure all the work for her is done.
Tomorrow will our last Comic and Graphic Novel class, and the last Digital Imaging class. Hopefully, I might be able to hand in my Digital Imaging images in to Alison and wait for the results.
Hard to believe that this is our last week of NC Media, and (part from ECDL Advanced Presentation) possibly my final course at Inverness College.
I hope that this week goes well for all of us.
Wish us all luck.

Review of Week 35 - One Week Remains for Us and Me
It's official, our last week of NC Media, and possibly my final week of doing a proper course at college, is upon us.
In Comics, I was asked to give my comics strip a titles I had given a title to my graphic novel. I gave the title Ah wid lik' a dram please as it fitted in with the theme of the story. A Scottish Wildcat goes into a pub and asks the English Fox for a "dram". The fox thinks he's asking for a drum, and gets one of the drummers from Coldstream Guards to play a drum, but the Welsh Hound reveals that the wildcat was asking for whiskey.
In Digital Imaging, and during part of the Comics class, I used a scanner to scan a negative and I put it into my workbook for the Digital Imaging class before I had the workbook printed and handed in for Alison. Alison says that the animation class may not be due to the fact she'll be at a meeting in Perth, but the next Digital Imaging class will be on.
Today, during Media Project, Iain gave some of us a final PAT interview, asking how we felt the course had gone for and I feel that I have done well on the course, having learnt how to use Photoshop.
Then in Media Project, we finished our project by getting the credits done and making sure that everybody involved was mentioned. I went looking for a name for one of the drama students who performed as one of the "victims" for the Arrive Alive event, but thankfully, Brain found out when I couldn't.
For next week, I properly have past everything possible, but I will still go into college to ensure that everything is done. On Monday morning, I'll be checking my ECDL stuff before we complete our last three days of NC Media.
Next year will unsure for me as I still have my ECDL to sort out, and I have been considering about getting a job.
I hope that our last week goes well for all of us.
Wish us all luck.
