Week 29 - The Easter Holidays begins

The Easter Holidays has begun for us.  Finally, I thought it would never come.

For David's DME, the video coming on fine and I have replaced some of the clips with other clips.  I think that the video improves every time I work on the video.

In Suzanne's Maths class, we had a pre-assessment practice, and I think that I didn't do too bad; everyone else is very mixed, depending on the question and the lecturer's answers.  Her Software Development is still as furious as ever, we have even been given our assessment, but I had to ask for the due date.  Our OPP class assessment has appeared and we are talking about the other Learning Outcome Assessments for the class.

We are already starting to talk about out next year studies and Adrian has information about that and the forms for next year.

Well, I'm now on a two week holiday, see you when we return in April.

Wish us all luck.

Week 29 - Review of Week 28 and Last Week before the Easter Holidays

Last week ended with our lecturers going on strike over the issue of pay.
Here's a link to the BBC website about the strike:

In David's class, we have been told make good progress on our video projects before we present our work to everyone else and that we will have a visitor watching him this afternoon.  Going through my video, I think that the Sailing sung by Rod Stewart doesn't seem right for the video.  I've asked David about the song Caledonia.  David's fine about that, so all I have to do is find the correct version of the song I'd like to use for my video.  I've now the version sung by the Irish group Celtic Woman (that the version is very good).  Now I have to edit and the song and video together.

Just this week and we will be on holiday for Easter.  I'm looking forward to it.

I hope that this week goes well for all of us.

Wish us all luck.

Week 28 - Review of Week 27

Just two weeks till the Easter Holidays.

We managed to avoid the inspectors last week (I think that they avoided us students).  Some of the classes weren't on due the inspectors, but we all got by.  In Network, we were plugging us the network cables into the network plugs and making sure that worked.

Most of us were in for Communications class this morning.  For David's class for the rest of the day, David had warned that the first class weren't on, and the second were under question, so I stayed on to make sure and use the college computers for any other work.  I was the only one left for the afternoon.  Next week, we will be looking at each other's work and heard their opinions.

I hope that this week goes well for all of us.

Wish us all luck.

Week 27 - Week of Inspectors begins

The week with the inspectors have begun, and so far (for today), no sign of the inspectors.

In Communications class this morning, we talked about giving presentations, the points that make a good presentation and the points that make a bad presentation.

In David's DME, I've made new sound recordings and have made start with the movie maker, and David's mentioned about looking for images of helicopters and planes.  I think that Paint.net will be in order for the imaging.

I hope that this week goes well for all of us, even if the inspector don't appear at all.

Wish us all luck.

85th Blog Post - Week 26 - End of a good week

It's now the end of another good week at college.

In Suzanne's Troubleshoot and Secure IT class, we did a 500 - 750 word report on the Computer Misuse Act, Data Protection Act and the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act for the closed-book assessment, I think that I did well on the assessment.  Suzanne was gave us a lot of information in the Software class later in the afternoon.

In Adrian's Network class we created our own lengths of network cables by putting network plugs onto the ends of the wires.  The process was surprisingly easy to do and fun.

For David's class next week, I went around the college campus taking a few photos, so I'll be able to make a start on the video next week.  I'll need to sort out the audio recordings too.

In Suzanne's class today, we are covering trend lines in Excel, quite a simple and easy thing to do.

Next week, we will have inspectors visiting the college, but they'll be more interested in our lecturers than us students.

I hope that next week goes well for all of us.

Wish us all luck.
